
Someone took this snap shot of me at Church a while ago. Apparently this is how I REALLY look to people when they talk to me! Lord in heaven! LOL
You will notice that my expression is more expressive than most people are used to. That is because among the Deaf (cultured Deaf, ASL users etc.) Face expressions are a dynamic and crucial part of the language. Much like sound for voices, or flavor for food, or little commentaries like nose wrinkles repeated, mouth twitching etc. Many Deaf storytellers (and I do identify myself as one) often developed a personal style of speaking and telling. For me its my expressive face that can say much, with out a single sign in response to things. So if you ever meet me in person, do not be surprised by my rubber face, its natural and not a put on. Grin.... Oh, this is also the look I have when in class... what???? LOL (and I am now on line class on moral and ethics of the Catholic Church, see book!)
