Snow again on Mt. Diablo! This is the third time in the seven years I have been living on Treasure Island there has been snow on that Mountain. Before that? Once a decade, if that! They say there is no Global Warming? Really? Take a Hike up there and see for yourself! -
Cherry Trees are Fat with flowers, The clouds are heavy with promise of rain and wind. I predict pink and white petal snow upon our lawn and walks. No worries, the trees will bloom again, like pretty thumbs upon noses to the north, defiant as always.

Try as I could, I have not been able to see the Milky Way since, well, forever. I do wish I knew where I could see them again....
Is there any place in this world, where one can still see the stars or the Milkyway in all its glory? I mean other than the middle of the desert or 5 thousand feet above sea level (I can't breathe that high, heart can't pump well enough...) I miss seeing them....
Anyone else see them a lot? If so, what part of the world are you in or is it on? (puzzled over that one...)

Now that Summer is comming, but the Gas is high, what if any trips are you gonna take?
I find that many orally raise deaf in all hearing families tend to have seven things in common with me.
1. They are strong minded and opinionated as the results.2. They tend to be artistic (at least the women do)3. Women are more accepting of their deafness and Deaf culture, weather they are a part of it or not. 4. They will never fit in anyone place or many places, except with others who are in this very tiny niche crack. At least, that is how we feel.5. We tend to be high compassionate people who don't accept people bullshitting us or themselves.6. We make GREAT friends, intense friends. The kinds of friends people dream about having. The kind that accept you where you are and how you are, dirty and shinny bright. However, the lack of acceptance of people for their own flaws makes them unable to be comfortable around people who are so willing to take them as they are. Because then it means, the flaws must be real and dealt with or lived with.7. Tight tight fit with Animal
yes I did. I agree with the ending to leave the cochlear implant ending open, as the focus was on the relationship. How relationships between hearing and deaf values can be torn apart by perceptions of what each thinks is better for the other.
There was a play in the Bay area a few years ago, I was not able to hear, that was very similar to the movie. Only it was the Deaf mother that wanted the implant and the hearing father that did not. Interesting... Would have made a different kind of impact but maybe to complex for general audience?

Your profile kind of fits mine.
Have you seen the movie with Marlee as a mom with deaf son last Sun? The father is hearing and wanted his son to have cochlear implant. It was a good movie.
